Another October come and gone. It seems that I can no longer blink, or I miss something. Maybe it’s just that when my eyes open up I can’t believe what I’m seeing–things change so fast. Leaves have changed their colors, trees dropping them one after another almost to blanket the cold ground with one last bit of color before we are all blanketed in white snow.
So far, Autumn has released her cold airy nights but faithfully kept us warm during some beautiful sun filled days. One of them being Jhacie’s 5th bday. My baby–now five, going on 13.
Her party stretched out for a few days as she had her hair done with Shannon again…. getting all glittered and pretty’d up for her special day. She was taken out to lunch with the girls and continued to celebrate through out the day with phone calls and emails, and special guests who’d pop in to give her a big bday hug. She was a blessed little girl.
We wrapped up soccer for the year, and now look forward to taking some of the winter off. Settling in for the weekends without the hustle of morning sports. “Shin guards, blankets, chairs…hats, gloves…oops go back, forgot the water bottles….and the coat, Mom!”
Don’t get me wrong, last month I WAS raving at how fun it was this year and it truly was…it’s just time to relax over at the Larson home.
We trick-or-treated the neighborhood with the black spiderman, two pirates and a little geisha girl. (She finally fit in the outfit we had gotten her while visiting SFO Chinatown.) It was a nice evening for us all.
Walkie-talkies in hand, the two older boys ventured out on their own for the first time. The excitment was almost overwhelming.
They stepped out the door, and with in minutes they blended in among the parade of kids from the neighborhood. Jhacie and Alex barely made it around the block, before deciding they had enough. I think the excitement to see what they had gotten so far, was just too hard to contain. On to the goodies!
Well, that about covers our October. It went fast…on to November. We have lots of family visiting this month, so will have photos to share of that.
Of course we’ll be celebrating Thanksgiving too…and then…I almost flinched as I thought of this…but on to Christmas.
Hope all is good with you. Have a very blessed Thanksgiving.
