SONNET #43, FROM THE PORTUGUESE By Elizabeth Barrett Browning Published in 1850 How do I love thee? Let me count the ways. I love thee to the depth and breadth and height My soul can reach, when feeling out of sight For the ends of being and ideal grace. I love thee to the level of every day's Most quiet need, by sun and candle-light. I love thee freely, as men strive for right. I love thee purely, as they turn from praise. I love thee with the passion put to use In my old griefs, and with my childhood's faith. I love thee with a love I seemed to lose With my lost saints. I love thee with the breath, Smiles, tears, of all my life; and, if God choose, I shall but love thee better after death.
light my way along Your path so that all I do leads me toward the destination You have in mind.
winter fun :: tulips 2010 :: session 1
this morning i’m wanting to go somewhere.somewhere far from snow and cold. trying to remember past trips with my hubby. reminiscing about all the great times we had. time traveling back to the cool places we’ve visited. this pic was taken in san francisco. {i think of the movie ELF, everytime i say that anymore} i love the blues and how they contrast with the green grass in the back. warms my heart just looking at it.

i think one of my most favorite places in the world is cannon beach, or. i love the serenity of the ocean. i love the display of the ocean’s power. i love the smell of the ocean. i love the sounds crashing into it’s shore. i have to sleep with the window open anytime i’m near it. it brings me so close to God it seems. i think i could sit on it’s changing shore for hours…until it comes up to great me, then i have to get up and move back.
it inspires me endlessly. i can go through old pictures forever and reminisce all it’s memories it shared with me. oh, how i love the ocean.
i love this picture i took on our last trip. i love how the footprints lead up to the rocks. i love the misty shadows on the horizon. i love the peacefullness it shares with me everytime i gaze into it. i think it’ll be wonderful to wake up every morning to it. i need help though. i’m going to make a big canvas for our bedroom, but not sure which to pick. can you help me?
a. the original in color with a slight milk and honey action applied.
b. a mix of original color and brown sugar applied.
c. a sepia action applied to my milk and honey.
d. last but not least. it is not a black and white, but a dark brown sugar action.
so there you have it. four options. i can’t decide. neither could t.sr. so now i leave it in your hands…if you so choose to play along.
can’t get enough of the frosty forests in our front yard.

Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening
Whose woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.
My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.
He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sound’s the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.
The woods are lovely, dark and deep.
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.

this year we are starting our own family traditions for Christmas.

my “big” boys after the concert. it was amazing…so I heard.

next time…we are all going. i love tobyMac…he’s so awesome.

my family. my inner most being. my hearts biggest loves. i’m so blessed to have the family that i do .
it’s faith in something and enthusiasm for something that makes a life worth living. that is what my family is to me. worth living for. worth fighting for. worth everything to me.

the perfect orange. the perfect circle.
the perfect pumpkin, that will soon, be carved into some kind of halloween happiness.
yep, it’s the perfect one.

restored hope…and courage to stretch past safe boundaries.
