A true photograph need not be explained, nor can it be contained in words. Ansel Adams untitled

the Photographer :: the Artistic Designer

a photographer who captures life’s every day moments one breath at a time.

I’m a photographer who loves what she does.  A self taught photographer, I love getting out there and capturing the entire world with my camera. I love being inspired by every day ordinary things. Everything becomes a backdrop, a point of interest and I am on a constant journey to find the perfect spot, the perfect photo opportunity.   I offer contemporary, casual and fun sessions with a very casual and fun kind of photographer.  Your personal session will be on location of your choice; your home, your backyard, the park, down by the river.  I’ll let you be you and we’ll have some fun together and take some wonderful photographs while we’re at it.

There are no rules for good photographs, there are only good photographs.  ~Ansel Adams

Please note: The session fee is non-refundable and due at the beginning of the session and includes the time and talent of the photographer and your proofed digital negatives. All photos taken will be proofed, edited and creatively altered by Joleyn. (this may take up to 10-14 days) Proofed negatives are the photos that I have chosen to work with and those that I have found acceptable. You will not receive access to all photos that I take, due to the excessive amount that can be taken during a session. Depending on the session, and cooperativeness of the client(s) you will receive anywhere from 5-30 quality proofs to choose from.  Wedding sessions will have more.

My prices are firm :: here’s the list.

Individual Child :: $100 :: Location shots, in home sessions.

Family :: $300  (up to 4  members) $50 per extra subject ::  Mom and Dad shots, individuals of kids.

Seniors :: $250 :: Clothing changes, location shots, in home sessions.

Engagement & Couples :: $200 :: (Included in Wedding Session, if deposit has been made to book the date.)

Wedding Session :: $1500  :: Engagement, Pre-Ceremony, Ceremony (if allowed) and Reception

Bumps & Babies Portraits :: $200  :: Third trimester maternity and newborns up to 3 weeks portraiture. Location shots, in home sessions.

Keepsake/Announcement Portrait :: $55 :: This is a short 15 minute session to get a few pictures to use in a design that I will later create for your special occasion.

You will not receive any prints from me directly. You will order your own photos through MPIX.com after I upload for you.
I am available for all help that you may need during your ordering process. I only upload to photos to Mpix.com and will not guarantee my work through any one else.
All prices subject to change without notice.
As my portfolio builds, session fees will gradually increase and will include the time and talent of the photographer. You will then purchase the digital negatives in packages.

    Joleyn,

Thanks so much for coming to our home. The pictures are beautiful. Breathtaking, really. I keep thinking about the way pictures tell stories, and how you are helping me tell a story about love. It’s such a journey– holy and beautiful and hard sometimes, but good, definetly good. Thanks for taking pictures of us along the way, and helping us remember these days.

    I’m grateful for you.

Had my first in home session of the year. Have to say i was so excited and so inspired to do it. This little guy was amazing as we ventured through his beautiful home. We climbed stairs, played on his bed with woody and buzz, we played trucks in the snow…it was so fun. The pics are amazingly wonderful. Happy 3rd bday Fynn!!!

met this wonderful family at the capitol for their family session. it’s amazing how fast i had forgotten….some two year olds can cruise…and fast. :) they don’t want to sit very long, and they definitely don’t want their pic taken too many times. even so, we were able to hold him down long enough for a few great shots. had so much fun with you guys. {hugs}

I LOVE these pictures! You are so amazing! You captured our family perfectly. You managed to get my husband to smile in a few pictures and also got Carter to sit still long enough to look at the camera. WOW! We had so much fun taking pictures with you. Carter just adored you…all the way home Jamie & I got to listen to Carter saying, Mommy, “cheese…candy”. Thank you so much for chasing Carter all over the Capitol grounds and making this such a fun, memorable experience. Can’t wait until we need our pictures taken again…

    Joleyn,
You did such a nice job with Katie’s photos. Captured such special moment photos and were so much fun to work with. I don’t know any other photographer who will tackle barb wire fences, hills, ditches like you did to get to the spots we liked! Your heart was into it and the quality of your photos shows it. We love you!! Kathy

I just received my order from mpix…unbelievable! Along with other pictures I had printed, I had a picture of Fynn enlarged to 20×20 and printed in black and white…it is breath taking! I cannot wait to frame it and display it proudly in our home.

I look forward to business with you again. I will get in touch with you sometime October about our Christmas card.

Have a great Friday and an even better weekend.
